Sorry, One More Currency Exchange Question!

Sorry everybody, I did a search on this and didn't get a specific answer. Can anyone tell me if I can change unused Czeck Republic money to Hungarian money, and same thing once I get to Austria. I had heard that this was not possible and I would essentially be stuck with money that I hadn't spent in each country, and this doesn't make sense to me. Thank you.

No you can't. This is still considered soft currency. Check out footloosetravel.com for an article I ran into about this topic.

The previous poster is mostly right. In my experience I have found the Czech crown more convertible than the Hungarian forint, BUT only in those countries imeediately adjacent and/or in hotels where they get a lot of clients from those countries. I wouldn't count on it though.

We were able to change Czech crowns into Hungarian Forints. When we left Hungary we asked at our hotel about being able to exchange our remaining Forints in Austria, the desk clerk recommended converting the currency before we left Hungary.
