I'm taking a look at these Capital One cards:

Can someone comment on them? Option #1 has a $39 fee but you accumulate 2 miles for every dollar spent.

But maybe it's not worth it anyway, as I haven't claimed by FF miles in ages.

Does someone know what the cash/miles conversion looks like? In Amex rewards the cash redemption is normally at 50% (10000 points for $50, etc.). Is this the same for Capital One?

Maybe the cash back is the best option?

When I click on "Learn More" and then important disclosures, I see "Foreign transaction fee: None." I assume that's good enough?

Thanks.

I've been wondering about the same myself. You also have to realize that CapOne's points do not equal AMEX's points in redeeming miles. They are "no hastle", but take many more points for a ticket.

What with current difficulties in redeeming FF seats, I think I'd go with the money back card and buy your own tickets. I have been using AMEX for points in the past, but have been shifting more of my purchases to a BP card from Chase. 5% back on gas purchases. That is 15 cents discount per gallon of gas, 2% back on other purchases. I have calculated the miles earned on AMEX are worth around 1%.

BP has 2% cash back? That sounds great!

Maybe I should apply for that card for domestic purchases.

I can't stand the way these big businesses "cheat" their consumers. If you don't ask or research, you end up being the loser.
