Hadn't checked the web cam for a while. Just did now and that's awful. Whaaat Happened!!! At least we now know the store on the right is Gabriella. But obviously something is wrong and the cam has for whatever reason tipped.

Oh my gosh! I miss the tabacchi shop. It's too bad we don't have some way of emailing directly to the internet cafe to tell them the camera has slipped. I'm sure they don't intend for it to be that way.

Go to www.sorrentoinfo.com, click on 'contacts' and email them about the camera. I've done it, and if they get a few more emails, maybe...

OK! Just sent Antonello Maresca (he maintains the webcam) a rather impassioned plea in Italian telling him basically that we can't live without the view of the Tabacchi shop, that it's more important thatn any webcam in all of Italy, and praying he can fix the position of our "Eye on Sorrento"- hope he gets the message!

Is Antonello now going to think that that everyone on Fodors are smokers, LOL. That might confuse him. But sure hope that the webcam does get straighted out. Good luck Mr_Go, and do have a beautiful trip also!
BTW, just curious. You all know all the threads on Fodors about "fitting in" clotheswise. So, a question, when you look at the Sorrento webcam do you feel that you can tell who is a tourist and who is a resident of Sorrento or at least of Italy?

Changing locations, I realise that this particular thread is dedicated to Sorrento but if you are a fan of street webcams have a look at this Amsterdam one, posted by fellow Fodorite Zeus - it's the best quality livecam I have seen;
