Sorrento Questions
 

Have booked 3 nights at the Coltur Suites in Sorrento. Just wondering if anyone out there has stayed there and any comments.
We are travelling to the area in mid October and wonder if the ferries are running from Sorrento to Positano, Amalfi and Capri. I know that it would depend on the weather probably.

Haven't stayed there but ferries will be running as people who live there need them. Other poster can refer you to a web site or you can google it.

I don't think the Sorrento to Positano/Amalfi ferry runs year-round, so it depends on the date of your visit.

Yes, where's Steve James?! I seem to remember that the ferries reduced their schedule at the end of October, not the middle of October, which is still a busy time on the coast.

The summer schedules for Metro del Mare are usually June 1 through mid-September. Fall schedules are mid-September through the end of September. After that, service is suspended.

I was in Sorrento mid-October a couple of years ago. Ferries to Capri were still running quite frequently but ferries to Positano/Amalfi were reduced to just one or two days a week, as I remember.

Ferries to Capri run all year-round and surely the Metro del Mare from Sorrento to Positano on October is suspended. You can get Amalfi/ Positano by SITA Buses departing from Sorrento railway station.
