Sorrento Hotels
Would love some suggestions on Sorrento hotels. Looking for a good location for exploring both Sorrento and other areas (capri, amalfi, etc) in the 100-200 american $/night range. Thank you!

We stayed at Villa di Sorrento twice but it has been some time.
The rooms were very small. Our room was on the 4th floor and had a terrace. Located about 50 yards from the main square. It was nice and clean and breakfast was included. About two blocks from the bus / commuter train station. To get to the marina you have to walk down a bunch of outside stairs. That area is less than a 100 yards from the hotel. Nice, cute town. Losts of restaurants and stores. I'm not sure if you're aware but Sorrento is famous for music boxes. Walk into any store at home that sells music boxes and look at the bottom. Good chance it came from there. |
No, I didn't know that, very cool!
What about something with a pool? Its ok if we have a little walk to town, which I understand we probably will. But a 10-15 min walk max would be nice. |
The hotel we stayed in is under your budget (breakfast extra and a good deal, still in the 100euro range. I think the pool was also extra (as was the spa). But the rate was so good you'd probably still come in under what you want to spend. The contact info is in my trip report - http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...rful-weeks.cfm

Hi jceilidh3 and welcome!
Hub and I stayed at the following hotel some years ago. Although it seems set up for tourists (and busses), it is situated on a hill and has an amazing view. A restaurant and lots of amenities (see the link). We didn't drive but there was a hotel bus that took folks to Sorrento constantly and it was a short walk to the train and bus station. If you are driving, you can find out about the hotel's parking situation. Good trip! http://www.vesuviosorrento.com/en/ |
