Sorrento Hotels

I need help finding a hotel in Sorrento with a good view for under 200.000. We'll be there Oct. 4 - 7th. Loreley and Minerva are booked. Has anyone stayed at Il Nido?

We stayed at the Minerveta in may 2000 and had a beautiful room with view of Bay of Naples and Vesuvius. It was 180,000L with breakfast. They also have a very good restaurant with the same wonerful view.

We stayed 3 nights at the Hotel Villa Maria (Via Capo, 8) for $160.00 (US). It was Nov. 2000 and there were 3 of us. All the rooms have a balcony w/ a beautiful view of the bay and Vesuvius. The rooms were very sparse but clean and the ladies at the front desk were very helpful in showing us parking and coordinating a tour of Pompeii. I don't recommend the hotel restaraunt though.

I have just faxed a reservation inquiry to Minervetta, so I hope I get a reply. It sounds very nice. Sandi do you have an email or web page for Villa Maria, can't seem to find it anywhere. It too sounds great. Thanks

Barb,
re: site for Villa Maria
http://www.venere.com/it/sorrento/villamaria/

You should look at all the Sorrento hotels on venere.it. It's a great site for a wide range of hotel prices and locations for all of Italy.

Thanks for the responses. I just got confirmation from La Minervetta on my reservation and I am very pleased. They just sent my fax back with their stamp on it and a handwritten "Confirmed" with their address. So, I hope that means its confirmed. Would like to hear from anyone else who has stayed there.

My all time favorite hotel in Sorrento: The Aminta. Fabulous views and great staff. Ask for a room in the Annex and you might see the fire flies under the orange trees

We recently got back from a packed 2 1/2 week trip with our family. Part of that vacation included a three-day stay in Sorrento. I can honestly say that upon our return trip to Sorrento we will not hesitate to stay at Il Nido. The view, room, food and general hospitality was that of a warm Italian family. The cost was close to nothing. We loved it; all six of us and all the happy and beautiful pictures. The family who owns Il Nido certainly went out of their way to make us feel "at home"
