sorrento and capri restaurants

Can anyone recommend some good restaurants in Sorrento and Capri? We will be there in July and are mainly interested in good food and atmosphere. We will also have our 2 kids, ages 6&10 with us. Thanks.

mars10,

We were in Positano a few weeks ago and enjoyed Tasso (Via Correale, 11d, very easy to find)

We were a group of 10, so I don't remember everybody's choices, but several of us had the Chateaubriand for two, which was good (it was too rare for one person, but the restaurant gladly cooked it a little more for him).

The antipasti were good and interesting--I particularly remember stuffed squash blossoms.

I see on the card I picked up that Tasso has a website: www.ristorantetasso.it.

Of course I meant Sorrento, not Positano!

Sorry!

Sorrento: In the old town: LANTERNA for
lunch- great pizzas, salads, etc.
LANTERNA DUE for dinner- excellent handmade pastas, meat dishes, great service
ANTICA TRATTORIA- also in the old town. Nice atmosphere, great food.

In Capri, down at Marina Grande, I highly recommend an inexpensive place called "LO ZODIACO". We had an amazing lasagne there which was brought to the table in a gleaming copper pan! Also excellent pizzas and salads.

Have a great time!

Osteria Buonconvento in Sorrento. So good and fun, we ate there twice. And with two kids, you'd be fauned over. Italians love kids!

Just returned from several days in Sorrento, and I agree with Weadles, L'Antica Trattori was excellent. It's located at via p.r. giuliani, 4.

Also, a good website for that area is www.sorrentotourism.com.
