Sorrento

Ok, after reading threads on Italy for a while, I made up my mind on Sorrento, travelling alone. I am going to take it as base to explore Amalfi Coast, Capri and Pompei, then back home.
Any suggestion about accommodation? I am not exactly looking for a hotel.
I would like a place to feel at home where I can talk with local.
Thank you

You could start looking at Ulisse Deluxe Hostel - http://www.ulissedeluxe.com. Not quite a homestay though!

That's where I was going to suggest. It is a hotel though, and not even terribly small. But very nice for the price, good location, great breakfast. And the lobby is really nice and since that's where the wi-fi worked best I hung out there a bit and there were often people watching the game on TV, etc. There's a small bar in the lobby that people hung out at.

Villa Oriana is a bed & breakfast located in a villa surrounded by citrus. Just a stay is enough to become really friendly with owners. In the evening they offer homemade limoncello to guests and you can meet amazing people on the terrace while looking at the sunset. www.villaoriana.it/en

While many people in Sorrento will speak English, many won't. Is your Italian good enough to "talk with local"? Or did you mean you want to talk with other travelers?

First of all thanks to everyone for your kind replies. @kybourbon I wouldn't be able to talk about Wittgenstein in Italian but as Ingrid Bergman said to Roberto Rossellini I can say 'ti amo' but I would like to thank you for the question. First rule for travelling is don't take anything for granted. When I say locals I am thinking about owners of small hotel or b&b, not workers just there to work (with all respect).
@worldinabag & isabel definitely too big to me, but thank you so much
@maltesec from the website I wasn't able to understand so much about Villa Oriana, so I checked out on Tripadvisor and it really impressed me, thank you.
