Sorolla Sargent show at Petit Palais in Paris
 

We are going to Paris expressly because of this show. I can't find info if advance tickets are available. Does anyone know? Has anyone seen the exhibit?

i saw the exhibit in madrid in december, and it was simply beautiful.

Admission is free to permanent collections at Le Musee du Petit Palais, but apparently there is an unspecified charge for admission to see special exhibits like this one. I am glad you pointed this exhibit out, because I will try to visit it with my husband and daughter in March. If you google search for the Musee du Petit Palais, you will find its web site, which lists its phone number: Standard : 01 53 43 40 00.

We bought advance tickets to Turner, Whistler, Monet at the Petit Palais on the web thru FNAC and picked them up on Rue de Rennes when we arrived in Paris. Pretty easy.

I've looked all over and can't find any info for this show. Please let me know the dates. Thanks.

When is this exhibition scheduled? It's very difficult to see much Sorolla work outside Spain and the exhibition I saw years ago in San Diego turned me into a major fan. Sorolla and Sargent too, that's a jackpot.

The exhibition is running from the 15th of February and will last till May 13th.

I wouldn't worry at all about advance tickets. There was never a line to get into the free area and you have to get in there first to purchase tickets....this was in Nov. There were no lines at all for the special exhibitions.

Make sure you see the rest of the museum..it's our new favorite place in Paris.

Well, it's on from Feb.15 to May 13, which means I'll miss it by a few days. Drat!

Lucky you to get to see it. It's called Peintres de la lumière and has 100 pieces from museums as well as private collections. I wonder if it's going anywhere else?

I saw the exhibit, which is good. On a Sunday, there was no need for reservation. The admission price is 9 Euros.

Alas, finishes too early for us. But there will be others to see.

Anyone who likes Sargent, and who will be in New York in the next week (through March 3, 2007), should head to the Adelson Galleries, at 19 East 82nd Street, where a lovely show called "Sargent's Venice" (which I saw this afternoon) is currently on exhibit. Many of the 50 or so paintings and drawings in the show are on loan from private collections, so this is one of the few chances you'll have to see them. If you can't make it to New York in the next week, the show will be at the Museo Correr in Venice from March 24 to July 22.

I was there last weekend, and we didn´t have any problem getting in. I had thought of buying tickets in advance, but it was impossible and it wasn´t really needed.

I think they have added a couple of drawings to the original exhibition in Madrid. In a way, it is easier to visit, not having to move between two locations as in the Thyssen case.

We went to the Sargent/Sorolla exhibit at Le Petit Palais on March 9, and it was really beautiful. There was a very short line to buy tickets, so no worries! Museum pass won't get you into this special exhibit. I thank you, Aleta, for posting this so we could enjoy this exhibit!
