Son Canals Apartment, Deia, Mallorca
We will be in Mallorca this October and plan on renting an apartment, preferably in the village of Deia. We found several listed at the Holiday-Rentals.com website, http://www.holiday-rentals.com/index.../reg_refno/927.
Most of the apartments listed are in the new Son Canals apartment complex, across from the La Residencia Hotel.
Has anyone stayed here? What are your thoughts?

I was in Deia last weekend but I'm sorry I can't answer your query .Whilst looking out for La Residencia we found we had passed it!
However, I found that Deia didn't seem to have a "heart" -although maybe we missed that too! We didn't come across a mediterranean village centre which other villages had.
Despite that our wander around was pleasant and the village viewed from the road is very pretty.

I stayed at La Residencia and enjoyed it. If the apartments are across the street, you should be fine. In Deia, there is not much happening, but there are great restaurants close by La Residencia and you will be able to walk to them.

Thank you Frances and WanderingTexan for your comments. We're looking for a small, relaxing village for our base while exploring the rest of the island on day trips. Deia has been recommended to us.

We stayed at Fornalutx at the Ca'n Reus.We spent our time walking and sometimes travelling by car. Our other option was a place in Deia but we opted for this because the hotel looked nice(and was!)
