Any answer to my last question? Is it a bad idea to visit Rocamadour on a Sunday?

Carlux Sep 22nd, 2010 04:22 AM

No problem with a Sunday in May - as long as you are not going on one of the holiday weekends in May - 1 May, 8 May, when there will be lots of people everywhere. Both occur on Sunday, which means busy holiday weekends. But everywhere will be busy, Rocamadour no worse than anywhere else.

We will probably be there on Sunday May 15. What holiday is May 8?

Steve; You could consider this chateau, just outside of St. Emilion. If you like being treated like family, this is a great place to stay. The French breakfast was very nice in an elegant setting. Room were lovely. www.closbertinat.com P.S. Forgive the double post. Computer problem

May 8 is the Fête de la Victoire 1945, or WWII Victory Day.

Carlux Sep 22nd, 2010 11:29 AM

C'est a dire - VE Day - Victory Europe. Not quite the end of WWII, but pretty important in Europe.

I guess that in Bordeaux, wine is more important than VE day. On the weekend of the 8th, there is a big grand cru wine event in Bordeaux city.
