Somewhere reasonable to stay in Brighton

Hi Guys

You have never let me down before. Myself and a friend (two females) would like a really reasonable place to stay in brighton for 3 nights October 20th. We are wanting to check on my friends daughter who is attending university (first time away from home). Hope you can help. We are looking for a nice pub or small hotel somewhere fairly central with parking so that we can spend some time shopping but the majority with her daugher just checking that she is OK. Any suggestions greatly received. Thanks

What do you consider "reasonable"? One person's reasonable could be another's really expensive

I had a friend who stayed here but she didn't need parking so I don't know about that:

i have stayed many times at the granville:

friendly small place directly on the waterfront. clean, stylish, modern and cheerful. nice breakfast.

they have a deal for discounted parking with a large car park. most small central hotels in brighton work this way for parking.

We can run to £50 per person per night but would prefer cheaper than this if we can find it!

There are tons of b&bs in Brighton that would be well within your budget. Just don't go right down to the lowest possible cost unless you are looking for grotty, but really anything from about £30 a person should be ok. This is a good site to find them on www.smoothhound.co.uk, I always use it to look for places in the UK.

£100 for the two...should be no problem in late oct. you should be able to get a sea view room.

if you require pub/restautant recs:

i recommend the regency restaurant on the waterfront...just in front of west pier. it's a cypriot owned cafe with excellent seafood at a good price.

doctor brightons is a good pub over towards the brighton pier....just off the waterfront. mostly people relaxing with friends...not the hen/stag night crowd that frequent many brighton pubs.

food for friends is a pretty good vegetarian place, not on the waterfront but close.

if you want to take her out to a nicer meal, try terre a terre. also vegetarian
