trip to norway
We are taking a cruise from Copenhagen to Stockholm next July but have heard that we should definitely see Norway while that far from Seattle. What would be the minimum number of days which we could add onto our trip to see the beauty of Norway? Can we do this part of the trip on our own ? Do anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much for any help!

I visited Bergen for four days last summer and had a great time. I did the Norway in a Nutshell one day trip to see the fjords and spent the rest of the time in and around Bergen. Obviously, I did not see 'all' of Norway but from what I've read this is the 'best' part. I've visited Copenhagen and Stockholm on previous trips and think adding Bergen would make a nice trip. Very easy to do 'on your own'.

You might want to take a look at my trip report covering Norway and Stockholm; click on my name to find it. We spent 5 days driving in the fjord area, a couple of days in Bergen and a few in Oslo. About two weeks all told.

Ouch...even the upper limit of 4 days puts you into a very tight corner. In my opinion, you may want to rethink and use the extra days in either Copenhagen or Stockholm, 2 days in each of those two interesting Scandinavian cities.
Carol, if you could stretch to 7 days. that would give you Oslo, Bergen and perhaps a quick visit to a fjord, though Oslo is at the head of a fjord as Nytraveler notes above.
