Something special to do with Mom in Paris

Paris alone is special enough but I thought it would be nice while we're there, in December, to maybe have a manicure or facial etc.. something pampering or personal while we're there. We're staying in the 6th. Any suggestions of a treat that wouldn't cost a fortune?

I got a great haircut when I was there in March. I think it cost around 59 Euros. Fun!

CHeck out Le Bains du Marias. They have a website. You can get a variety of spa services there. I'm headed to France on Sunday and have a steam, gommage and massage reserved for day 2 to recover from jet lag. They do have facials, manicures, pedicures etc. I did have trouble contacting them via e mail so I faxed a reservation and heard back via e mail. I wouldn't imagine you would need much lead time for manicure/pedicure appointments.Their fax is 01133144610229.

Excellent..I'll check out the website. Would you be so kind as to post a response to this message with information on what you did and the cost?

I will but we won't be back for three weeks! I just checked their website. It is in French which might not be a problem for you. FYI Pedicure with polish 37 Euros, manicure w/ polish 28 euro (each is a few euros more with french style finish as it is in the States) Hydrating facial 70 euros.

Can you give me the web address? We won't be going until December.

Any other ideas?

www.lesbainsdumarais.com. Since you are going in December, you might consider the hammam (turkish bath-public) with gommage and massage. One of my favorite memories from our last trip (in mid march many years ago) was taking a hammam near the Paris Mosque and walking home at twilight along the river.

I always get manicures when I travel. I don't have specifics for Paris but my method is simply to keep my eyes open in the neighborhood I'm staying for a salon that looks fun/nice. They never cost all that much.

Also your hotel front desk might have ideass about things along this line that are near where you're staying, if you don't figure out something specific before you arrive.
