Somebody else's Scottish trip report - whisky and Rolls Royce version
Occasionally I come across trip reports on other websites that I just HAVE to reference here. In this case it's on Flyertalk, and covers a - shall we say - over the top "whisky trail" voyage complete with private jets and chauffeured Rollers around the Highlands.
Here's the link - https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trip...-scotland.html
Sit down before you go through it.

Ah yes, how the other 1% live.
Coincidentally, CrankyFlier is just finishing up a report on a whisky trip to Scotland (is this becoming a "thing"?). Rather different travel style:

I see that he didn't sleep muchbetter on the oxymoronic Caledonian Sleeper than I did, but at least I had a better experience with the Lounge at Euston (I was traveling in the other direction).

I was in Edinburgh last week and finally found out what's behind the Gardyloo moniker. LOL. I'm an ignoramus about Scotland. The weather was strange... rain, sun and fierce wind all at the same time. The day they were running the marathon I escaped to Stirling. Sunny and rather warm but not for long. Scotland is an absolute treasure. Ready to go back. Thank you, janis, for directing me to Rabbie's tour of St Andrews, Anstruther and Falkland. Charm abounds.

That was crazy. My brother has gone on some fantastic wine trips free because he buys so much from his distributor for his restaurant and wine store. My niece has the red carpet rolled out for her when they schedule tours for her. Her Italian and French tours were superb but no private planes or RR. This guy said he buys a lot from Harrods so was invited. Skipping that last dinner, oh my.
