Thanks all, for the kind comments!
I took a lot of photos but I tend to err on the side of brutal self-editing, so I was thrilled to end up with 9 I could be proud of! But I'll see if I can scrape up a few more Lyb, you're gonna love Prague! And Fishee, I'm using a digital SLR.

nutella,
I hope you've had some of these enlarged and framed, hanging as a "series" in your home or office. These are really stunning -- I'm learning how to use my boyfriend's canon rebel SLR but I'm not hoping for such great results on my first trip next week.

Thank you so much Tiff, I really appreciate your comment. Fishee, I remember the thread when you were deciding between the SLR and compact. Good luck to you using the camera, I'm sure you'll do fine, and you certainly won't have to search far for beautiful subjects in Prague!

Wanted to report on a scam going on in Prague.
The scams in Prague work something like this:
You pay for good dinner with a 100 Euro note. The waiter/waitress accepts it and walks away with your money. You wait for the change. Waiter comes back a few minutes later stating that you gave them a 10 Euro note and owe more money. You tell them that you gave 100 Euros, you are sure. They threaten to call police. You threaten to call police. Police come and escort you to their station to file a report. After two hours or so, they escort you out stating that they are closing for the night. They never took report, money situation was not addressed.
You go back to your tour guide who says, oh yes, I heard that has happened.
True story that happened to family members last vacation at:
"Palace U Kocku" located at Jilska 9, Prague 1. Features Czech and Mediterranean food.

Thanks again!
I've been pondering the idea of offering select images via my site... hopefully soon. So thanks for your interest Amp!
Myer, I enjoyed your Prague photos too.
Bart, those photos reflect the three lenses I carried - 70-200mm f4, 50mm f1.4 and 17-40 f4, all Canon. Oops, make that 5 lenses altogether, gotta give most of the credit to my most important two... Johnson & Johnson Acuvue2

Nutella,
Since you carry and use multiple lenses, I was wondering about a few things.
How often do you change lenses?
Do you travel alone? (the reason for asking is I wonder if travel photography is a priority or if you are with somebody else).
Up to now I have always carried and used one lens: my beloved 28-105 II USM Canon (I used to have a Canon elan 7e film camera and now a Canon XT SLR digital).
However, I'm finding that on the reduced size sensor, the 28-105 acts like a 45-150 and isn't really wide enough for what I like to take.
