Solo Travel in Rome
 

I may be traveling solo in Rome (5 days after 10/16 - dates not set yet) and was wondering if anyone else plans to be in Rome around that time. If so, would you be interested in meeting for some sights and/or dinner? I may end up traveling with a friend, but in the event I don't, it would be great to have someone to share some Roman experiences with! Let me know. Thanks!

When I went solo, I did not even think of using this site. Good idea though.

If you belong to any clubs that have charters in Italy, you may contact them for about meeting you for a day or for dinner. When I went, I met 11 Lions for dinner. It was actualy very nice to visit with locals at dinner.

I'm pretty sure I have an excuse or twelve that I can use go back to Rome 3 months after I just left it (as in last week). Ow! Ow! Stop twisting my arm!

Thanks, guys! Tom - I'm still trying to figure out my time frame and whether or not my friend will be joining me (she's going back and forth), but if I (or we) will be in Rome from Oct. 20-25, I would love to meet up for food, drink & sights. I'll keep you posted and vice versa!

I will be there as well from October 27 to November 3. It's a great place to travel solo - this will be my 3rd solo and 5th trip overall to Rome and I'm already counting down the days, reading the latest trip reports, looking at photos and making lists....can't wait!

Final dates not set, but it looks like I'll be in Rome at least some of the days each of you will be there. Will post actual dates as soon as I know! Looking forward to meeting you in Rome!

I am confirmed! I will arrive in Rome on Saturday, Oct. 22 and will be leaving (boo) on Thursday, Oct. 27. I would love to touch base with anyone traveling in Rome during this time period - meet for travel, drinks, food? Users TSRW and heather_chicago - please let me know if you're still planning to be there those dates and where you'll be staying. I'll be at Hotel Gioli (sp?) on Via Veneto.
