Soliciting advice on my excursion to France
Hello! I will be traveling to France for two weeks in late November. I have traveled to France before and visited the Basque region, Normandy and Paris. I feel I've "checked the block" on the touristy bits in Paris.
Because I'll have two weeks during my French romp, are there any other high spots you'd recommend? I should say that I do plan to travel to Strasbourg for a day to enjoy what I've heard is a magnificent Christmas market. Open to all recommendations! |
Hi C,
Where do you plan to arrive and from whence shall you depart? ((I)) |
France is similiar to a miniture USA geographically. You can go to the Alps region(like Rockies); or Riviera (like the West Coast); Dordogne (like Wisconsin but w/castles); Normandy/Brittany (like New England)... you get the picture. Remember, I said geographically it is obviously different because of culture... You should decide what you like and then we can give you recommendations.
Me, I would take the TGV to Provence in winter. Normandy/Brittany in Summer. Loire Valley in the spring. ABC's in Fall (that would be wine regions). |
Ira,
I'll be flying in and out of CDG. I admit that having a completely open itinerary is a bit daunting! |
Wisconsin with castles...LOL!!!

Maybe I phrased that wrong. Was saying the Dordogne had castles not Wisconsin. I was referring to the geography being like Western Wisconsin. |
Hi CS,
You could easily spend a week visiting Alsace. Nancy, worth 2 nights, is only 1:30 hr from Strasbourg. Dijon and Beaune are about 3:30 hr from S. ((I)) |
All times are GMT -8. The time now is 11:57 AM. |
