Solar Eclipse

It has started in Nevada so I am standing out in the backyard with the pinhole in an index card. I wish I could look at it.

Oh, that is wonderful. I'm in Paris and am on my rooftop looking at it right now. Just gorgeous!

Ah, Pierre, quelle imagination!

Hey, thanks for the reminder! Here in the South SF Bay area, we are about from max. Out in the street with my index cards. Light is very soft.

Been looking at it from East of San Francisco (Walnut Creek) for about 25 minutes with my wife and daughter. Spectacular.

Can we see it on the east coast?

Sandy Jun 10th, 2002 05:49 PM

We've got a view of about 70% of the eclipse from Los Angeles... looking through a solar eclipse viewer we purchased several years ago when we saw a complete solar eclipse on the big island of Hawaii. What an experience that was... ring affect, ripples on walls, etc.

What I couldn't believe was how really cool (not hot) it felt in Las Vegas without the whole gol-durned sun beating down.

Glad to remind you--that's why I posted; I always mean to look and forget.
