Soccer while in England
 

My wife and I will be traveling to London and Birmingham, between June 12-23, 2009 with our three children (11, 11, 13) and would love to see a Football (soccer) game.

Any suggestions on league and/or schedule while there? Thanks, Matt

Hi Matt - The football season usually finishes in late May - so you won't be able to see a premiership game, unfortunately :(

There is no professional football game played in June. Every other year, there is an international tournament (European Championship or World Cup) played in June/July, for which England USUALLY qualifies and every game is televised, but there's nothing in 2009.

no premier league matches, but wimbledon opens on 22 June 2009.

to make up for the lack of football you may be able to do a Stadium tour.
friends did the Emirates Stadium tour (Arsenal) earlier this year and very much enjoyed it.
