Donna, I agree. I think "newbies" type in their message and go to the search box and scroll down and highlight the country they're writng about, not realizing it's the SEARCH function and doesn't have anything to do with a new post. It sure would be nice if Fodors could rectify this by designing the page better.

The header is the title of your message. It should be related to the subject of your message. For example, the header (title) to your original message would have been much more descriptive if you had typed something like "Information Needed for Travelers to Eastern Europe" or "Need Help with weather in Eastern Europe and changing USD to Euro." The header is the info that's posted in the left-hand column. It's what attracts knowledgeable posters to your message. The title "Soccer mom" reveals little about the info you're seeking, so most people would probably bypass it. Welcome to Fodors.

I don't know - - this will be the sixth reply in 70 minutes - - it's not getting ignored! - - and staying near the top - - that is the point of a header.

I complain about headers, but this is not in the worst 10th percentile.

But no one has answered either of her questions!

For weather, see www.worldclimate.com

And for currency exchange, you might start with your local American Express office - - for euro currency - - for AUSTRIA - - but not for CR. They're not part of the EMU (yet). Still zlotys there, I think. See www.xe.net for details of exchange rate(s).

Best wishes,

Rex
hi there,
agrees with Rex, shure, the header helps to select and gives a first info about the question. But I'd rather see this then any more of "What shoes to wear in Paris?". To the question: The weather is fairly warm in July, less rain. So prepare for summer, but not for beaching. Best way for money: Get it at the airport in Austrai from the ATM, just take Euro first. Chance the rest of Your Euros in Czech Rep.
have fun and good soccer matches
Gar

The Czech Republic uses Czech koruna for currency, not zlotys. Having been there (and going back this year), I can tell you not to worry about getting CK ahead of time in US as currency exchange in Prague is very competitive with excellent rates, even at the airport. Really, I couldn't believe it, first time I've seen that. But even exchanging travelers checks, the rate is very close to what you'd get with a CC or ATM card (there are ATMs also). I usually like to take some foreign currency with me for emergencies, but CK is hard to get in the US, so if you are arriving in day time, just get some there.
