Soccer Match in Rome.
I will be in Rome in March. I am considering attending a soccer match at Olympic Stadium. Can anyone give me any guidence? Is it safe? Cost? Best seats?

Might depend on the color of your skin....

My background is hispanic. I suppose I can appear Spanish maybe Italian, except for what I wear or if I speak.

I'm sorry, I'm being mean. They are having problems with the white supremists/nazi crowd. It's quite a nasty situation. It's also affecting my white little life because my boyfriend is black and keeps throwing these aricles at me whenever I bring up going to Italy this year.

Anyone?

JJ - What dates will you be there? These are the fixtures for March:
5/3 Roma v Inter 12/3 Lazio v Reggina 19/3 Roma v Messina 26/3 Lazio v Sampdoria The right-wing/racist thing is a problem with the Laziali, not AS Roma. Not that I'm biased but ... Forza Roma ;) Hope this helps ... Steve |
Learn to call it football if you want people in Europe (or anywhere in the world except the US) to understand you. Best seats are out of the sun.

Point taken Zippo! Steve, I am planning on attending AS Roma vs Messina. Roma is doing well as of late and I am hoping Messina is up for the challange. So Forza Roma it is!!Any suggestions on ticket price and seating area?

JJ - Do you read Italian? If yes, you can find ticket info on the club's site:
http://www.asromacalcio.it/ Where to sit? It really depends what you want ... For atmosphere I always used to go in the Curva Sud - but you might prefer to go in one of the lateral stands. (Tribuna Monte Mario would probably be better if it's sunny ...) Hope this helps ... Steve |
