Yes, there are a million football games in Rome in October. There has been lots of info on this posted previously, just do a search.

Italian regular championship starts in early September and ends in early May. October is a good month, regular season games are played on Saturday's nights and on Sundays. During the week you may have some European champion's league games (where only the three or four best team from each country can participate). The greatest game of the year to see in Rome is when the two roman teams (Roma and Lazio) play each others.
