Soccer Fan

My fiance is a huge soccer fan and would love to try to go to a game while we are in Spain and Portugal next August / September. Does anyone know the best way to get tickets in advanced? I am also looking for a Fall 2003 schedule online and am not having much luck. Any advice would be great - thanks!

I tried checking out yahoo spain, but I just cant find next years scdedual

plus there are many tournaments that can go on at about the same time..like the Primera liga de espania . UEFA cup. and the champions leage..

just a tip the UEFA cap is the most important european cup.

No, sorry, the Champions League is more important than the UEFA Cup....Clubs which get knocked out of the early stages of the Champions League get transferred to the UEFA Cup.

You won't find any info on the 2003/2004 season until the conclusion of the present season in May-June 2003, when promotion and relegation from each division (usually three teams each) is decided. Fixture list will be announced around July and season normally kicks off around August/September, but will be earlier because of European Championship Finals in 2004, to take place in Portugal.

thanks for the correction.. over here in the states and in south america we tend too hear more about the UEFA..

I just based my comment on the copa toyota.. the copa libertadores winner (best team in south america) and the UEFA cup winners.. play too determen the best club team in the world.. or am I wrong again :)

Shayna, I hope you get the tickets.. I tried doing the same when I went too europe bet somehow I never got too see a single futbal game anywhere.except for some litle kids in a Venice sckool yard. .

you dont need to buy tix in advance, also they never sell in advance unless for big games and even that just 3/ 4 days before

just show at stadium earlier or buy the day before and you will geta seat, guaranteed
No Orgy7, the copa libertadores winner from South America play the winner of the European Champions League. The UEFA cup is the poor relation - you only qualify for UEFA if you've failed to qualify for the Champions League or have been knocked out of the early stages of the Champions League.

The clue's in the name: the Champion's League comprises the teams that are champions or have come top 1/2/3 (depending on how strong your league is) in each country.

You could get tickets to most games on the day of the game. There are few clubs that are regulary sold out, but even then it's possible to purchase tickets from a scalper in front of the stadium. Few years back when I was finally able to afford a trip to UK, being a ManU fan, I started to look for tickets months ahead. Well, it came down to showing up in front of the Old Trafford and just like that I was able to purchase ticket for about 10BP above face value. Since that time I hooked up with a guy and every year he gets me great tickets to between 2-3 games. For a Champions League game last year, he got me a ticket right behind the bench. Sir Fergie, Beckham, Giggs autographed my program. It was the best. So don't worry about tickets, if you don't find anybody on the internet, just go to the stadium few hours before.
Have a great trip!!!
