Soccer??

We are going to be in Prague and Munich mid June - does anyone have any tips from seeing a soccer game there before or a site where I can research this a bit. My son would love to go to a game while we are there thanks

We are going to be in Italy most of June and thought we would take the train up to Salzburg for a few days. Hotels were all booked up.

You aren't likely to be lucky, as in the <b>football,/b&gt;leagues season ends in late spring (it just did last weekend in German Bundesliga and Bundesliga wont start again until August). This summer there is the European Championships with all relevant National sides playing (except -er- for England, who unfortunately failed to qualify). The Euro takes place in Austria and Switzerland from 07 June - 29 June.

phillycheese:

I'd be careful, when buying EURO08 tickets from the kind of site TravMimi refers to:

Tickets for the Switzerland-Turkey game in a category 2 seat are officially priced at CHF 135, about $130. The ticket exchange quotes these tickets at $600 to $2000. And they will not be delivered until the week of the event or just before the game... In my opinion this stinks..

Phil.

No league games. The season is over.

As mentioned above, EURO08 will be happening in Switzerland and Austria.

All the matches are sold out. On line scalpers are expensive. Scalpers around the stadiums will be more reasonable, but since either country is on your itn, you have to ask yourself a question. Do I want to take a chance and see if I can get a ticket just before a match? There is also the hotel issue. The few rooms that are available will probably be very expensive.

My follow up post didn't go through.
I didn't intend to suggest anyone buy tickets from that site, just as a reference as to what is going on where and when. Salzburg hotels were booked up months ago.

You could just do what the locals do. Go to the pub and watch the game on the telly. It will be very busy and have a good atmosphere - with everyone hoping Germany loses (apart from in Germany obviously).

I agree the last poster.

Both Germany and Czech Republic have qualified for the Euro 2008 championships.

Visit this site for all the fixture listings:

Find yourself a sports bar and enjoy the great atmoshphere.

There will be public viewing on large screens in any major city in Europe. When the weather is good, it will be quite atmospheric. (There are also indoor venues.)

Here the venues in M&uuml;nchen (sorry, only in German):

The Chinese Tower in the English Garden should be a good place to view the games.

My daughter and I wanted to travel to Salzburg just for one day on June 25th by train from Munich. All the soccer activity sounds very exciting, but will we have difficulty getting a rail ticket (bayern)on that day?

AAFrequentFlyer May 26th, 2008 05:37 AM

I doubt very much you will have too many problems by that time.

The tournament will be winding down with only 1 match on the 25th, a semi final played in Basil, Switzerland.

On the 26th the other semi-final will be played in Vienna.

The last match in Salzburg is on June 18th, so the city should be back to normal.
