CaliNurse, I live in Kingsville so those small coastal towns aren't much out of my way! Family just moved to Bay City so need to go check out the new digs. We are about 10 miles from the coast although we have to drive many miles to the beach since the King Ranch frowns upon people cutting across.

2010 wasn't the most exotic travel year (but it was still very good):

Holidays
- Me: Quito, Ecuador (to study Spanish)
- Us: wine/food tour of France (Champagne, Burgundy, Sancerre and Paris) - our first trip back since we used to live there
- Me: Guanajuato, Mexico (to study Spanish)
- US: Weekend trips to Philadelphia, Chicago and Miami (2/3 attached to some work travel)
- Him: Climbing trip in the Canadian Rockies
- Us + my sister: San Francisco, to do the Bay to Breakers 12K and spend a couple of days in wine country

Work:
- A couple of trips to Mexico, one trip to Argentina/Brazil, a trip home to Toronto, a trip to Montreal and too many trips to Washington DC

2011 is going to be a fairly quiet year for us because my husband's starting a part-time master's degree. We're thinking of:

- Me (next week): Granada, Spain (to study Spanish)
- Us: a dive trip in Florida
- Me: attach a week's study (Portuguese) in Brazil to a work trip, and likewise a week's study (Spanish) in Argentina after a work trip
- My sister and me: a trip to California to run (her) or walk (me) a half-marathon
- Us: Thanksgiving in Paris

Mostly here in the States doing lots of editing. We do have a crew going to Paris and London in February and we are going to the Yucatan in mid-March. Over the summer we are taking the camper on a month long trip through the American southwest.
