2011 WAS A GREAT YEAR! I had the chance to go back to France, Italy, and visited for the first time the Balearic Islands. I also had a great chance also to take a great cruise to Baja California. That said, my fondest memories are exploring my backyard with my younger nephews in a hot and gorgeous New England summer!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011! GOOD HEALTH AND LOTS OF LAUGHTER!!!

2011 was a great year?! We were in Barcelona in November 2010 and loved it. We will be going to Paris and Amsterdam in February 2011. Funny because I think we also had our "fondest memories" of camping in the backyard with our granddaughters and camping with just the two of us on Lovells Island in Boston Harbor.

Travel always sets the agenda for our year.

In 2010 we had our usual beach vacation in March. 3rd year in a row at Grace Bay, Turks & Caicos----fabulous.

Then throughout the summer was a few Northern Wisconsin trips,Chicago, and MDH was a Marshall at the US Open at Whistling Straits at Kohler, Wisconsin----way fun.

Sept. was our usual European vacation(after all this is the Europe thread). I totally missed going to France, but Ireland was quite a nice surprise----adding it to our "must return to" places.

For 2011 we are seriously thinking of giving up our Caribbean in March(after20 yrs.of doing so).

I'm somewhat sure that we will be going back to Ireland in May. It's in the planning stages right now. Then it will be the usual close to home trips for the summer. Then in Sept. we plan to go back to Paris(my favorite place) and some other part of France.

Happy, Healthy New Year. Travel On!

Easter in Rome and then to Sorrento and Capri.
My Birthday (68th) in August Solo trip to Australia.
Looking to leave in Jan., hopefully Lisbon. Can't seem to
find a new travel partner, so will plan the trip alone, unless my sister can go(she's currently between jobs and may have to stay home for interviews). Not my best travel year, but I still consider myself lucky.

Joanne, welcome to my home town!

2010, 2 gloriously relaxing weeks on Phi Phi Island, Thailand.
Then a totally unplanned visit, that we put together in a matter of weeks, to our daughter who is working in Whistler, Canada. We then flew to San Francisco for 4 days (lovely city), then boarded the P&O Oriana (we got such a great deal, this was the reason the trip happened). We sailed to Sydney via Hawaii, Maui (swam with the turtles, WOW), Samoa and 3 cities in NZ, then flew back to Perth.

2011, first will be a weekend down at Margaret River showing new friends from Brisbane that we met on the ship around our wonderful wine region. In May a week in London, 4 days in Paris then back to the UK for a 3 week driving tour.

We are already looking to do another cruise in 2012, possibly in the Med.

Hey Jaja, if you make it to Bay City, try to head south along the coast, to Rockport and Fulton Harbor. I've been fortunate and blessed to visit many places in the world, but Fulton Harbor is right up there, among the most special. Something about those small Texan towns...and whenn you add a seaside location=magical.

2010: Northern India (New Delhi, Amritsar, Himachal Pradesh); London; New York City (my hometown) San Diego.
2011: Kauai; France (Dordogne, Provence) Italy (Venice, Tuscany, Sorrento/Amalfi Coast). If the $ doesnt disappear, very late in the year to another part of India.

In 2010 we were in Egypt in March, in Portugal in June and in Valencia in November. Unfortunately we had to cancel our September trip (to Portugal again) due my husband's accident.
We also made a lot of daytrips in our own low countries (Belgium, the Netherlands, northern France) and realized that one doesn't have to travel far away to have a good time.

Plans for 2011 so far are Egypt in March (our 11th trip) and 3 weeks Portugal in June (the tour that was planned for Sept 2010). I hope nothing interferes. Fingers crossed.
