Slopugs.
I love all beings that snuffle when petted........., but I do not understand a dog with a bad attitude that is smaller than a a housecat.

I guess you have got to understand one to love one.

My reason is boring too...Daisy is my favorite flower. I got the 2222 because fodors wouldn't let me have just 22, which is my fav number. Daisy2222 is also the begining of my e-mail [email protected]. I thought my real name (Danyell) was too boring to use.

icithecat: Hhhmmm....None of my Pugs have "Bad attitudes"; all of mine are very friendly, playful, and snuggly. They have been bred as companion/lap dogs for 3000+ years for that very purpose! Too bad you have only met "Troubled" ones Maybe they were poorly bred and not "Right in the head" ......?

I chose mine, because that's exactly what I am when I go anywhere, plain and simple - just a humble vistor.

Slopugs I've owned and been aquainted with alot of dogs in my life but Keemie, my best friends pug brings the fondest memories. Seems he had a breathing problem and the sound he made was so lovable. I can hear him comin'! Man, I miss that dog!

Thanks for the kind comments my Pug friends! Owning a Pug IS a little different than owning other dogs. Unfortunately, as with all purebreeds there are inherant problems. With short nose breeds the respiratory problems can be an issue, thus all the snorting and snoring. It would happen to you too if your nose was totally squished into your face! For people who love Pugs, their little sounds (or big sounds) make them even more endearing....my girlfriend calls them the Puggletts! The good breeders, however, DO try to breed the ones that do not have respiratory problems.

I have a black pug named Albert. I researched different breeds to find one that would fit my lifestyle. When I read that a pug's favorite activities were food and lying in a heap, I knew this was the breed for me.

He is, indeed, a snuggly puggly.

As a pre-registration xxx, I had a hard time deciding on a screen name. I choose mine after the Margret and H. A. Rey series, which was one of my sons favorite bedtime stories some years ago. We read all them.

Funny, I have been reading your name, slopugs, as sloplugs and thought you owned a car repair or the like.

I chose my name because I want to spirit around like a firefly.

I had resisted posting to this thread, but I have enjoyed reading the stories of others, so here goes....

In aboriginal culture "walkabout" is the habit of temporarily migrating from home for an unplanned period of time, and often without a specific goal in mind. I'm American, but I like the sentiment the word expresses.

ladyfirefly" Ha! That's funny; I WISH I knew how to fix my car! Nice screen name you have. I have always been fascinated by fireflys since a camping trip in Texas when I was a small child.
