So little time - so many places. Travel Bucket List

Without meaning to trivialize the recent death of writer Christopher Hitchens, he mused on his terminal condition , regretting that there were many places he had yet to travel. As I near retirement, I have been revising down my travel list so at least I get to most places I want to visit.
Places MUST visit:
1 Samos (booked for June 2012);
2 Sardinia (but where – it all seems worth visiting);
3 Majorca – probably Cala Mondrago;
4 Costa de la Luz – probably Puerto Santa Maria;
5 Calella de Palafrugell;
6 Parga.
Places Must return to:
1 Corfu – Kalami Bay;
2 Rome.
I would be interested if anyone else was downsizing their travel ambitions and where they would definitely return to? And with the risk of being insensitive, if you had only a few months left to live what would be at the top of your list – either as a must return to or a visit for the first time?
With these thoughts in mind, I wish you all a very healthy new year.

And right back at you, stevelyon, a very healthy new year!

Were I to hear that I have only a few months to live, I would be back on a plane to visit Scotland and England. My DH would probably wish I would stick closer to home, so actually I would like a nice longer visit to Nova Scotia, too.

Not to sound too, too .. negative? .. there can be something to try and live as if the terminus is in sight .. live without regrets, I mean.

If nothing else, I do not want the words, "I wish I had," to be anywhere in my epitaph. Doing things for others, planning possibilities for my own future (budgeting for retirement as well as travel), it can all come now.

Central Asia. Followed by a return to the Himalayas and Taiwan, and then to as much of Europe as I could fit in!

I took early retirement eleven years ago precisely so I could travel before I got too decrepit. I am somewhat more decrepit, but still traveling.

I do have several new places that I would like to visit, but when I start thinking about travel my mind always returns to Paris. No matter how many times I've been there, Paris has my heart. It's like I MUST return again and again.
