SO FREAKED OUT RIGHT NOW!

I just called Virgin Atlantic to request a meal and was told "they don't have a resevation" under our names! We are leaving tomorrow for a 17 day trip to Europe- and as of now have no tickets! They blamed Travelocity for not reserving the seats- in the meantime we have four paper tickets and two other connections booked! We bought these tickets in February - OH MY GOD! I'm so glad my husband is calmly talking to them right now- cause I'm sweating bullets!!!!!

Just take a few deep healing breaths, mamaj. Thank goodness you phoned about a meal and didn't have an ugly surprise at the airport tomorrow. Let us know how this turns out.

Is your husband finished with his phone conversation? I find it amazing that while this "event" is actually in progress, you take the time to go to your computer and post this thread.

I am sitting next to him while he is on hold- I just had to vent to someone- and I know (I hope) to get some sympathy here!

mamaj Jun 11th, 2006 07:45 AM

mikeyb- my husband wants to know it you are upset because we have a DSL connection- thus allowing me to post and be on the phone at the same. ;)

Is he still on hold? Thank goodness you've got those paper tickets!

Linda431 Jun 11th, 2006 08:05 AM

Hopefully he's on hold with Travelocity and not VA. They should be the ones to straighen this out. I'm dying to hear the outcome of this one.

NorthShore Jun 11th, 2006 08:06 AM

You still on hold?

laartista Jun 11th, 2006 08:17 AM

If you're in economy maybe you'll get lucky and they'll have to bump you up.

mikeyb Jun 11th, 2006 08:23 AM

Doesn't everyone? BTW, I'm leaving now for a lovely Sunday brunch by the ocean as I'll check in later in the day. Good Luck!!!

mamaj, post on Flyertalk.com as well, because they have a very high population of experienced flyers.
What is your three-part itinerary?

i_am_kane Jun 11th, 2006 08:41 AM

Any resolution yet?

wren Jun 11th, 2006 08:48 AM

I am hoping to hear what happens too! Fingers are crossed!

lvktravel Jun 11th, 2006 08:51 AM

Hope everything turns out ok, please let us know. Will keep fingers crossed.
What does BTW mean?

Betsy Jun 11th, 2006 08:53 AM

BTW = By The Way

fun4all4 Jun 11th, 2006 08:58 AM

Good luck!! I'm sure it will all work out and you will be on your way to Europe one way or another, but what a headache!

Just for that, you deserve an extra glass of wine with your dinners upon arrival! :-) And gelato and pate and ......

Marianna Jun 11th, 2006 10:26 AM

How awful! Hoping it is resolved in your favor, mamaj.

Carrybean Jun 11th, 2006 10:26 AM

Do you now own Travelocity???

P_M Jun 11th, 2006 10:39 AM

C'mon, mamaj, don't keep us in suspense--what's happening?? :-O

ALWAYS, if you've booked through a third party, go to the Airline's web site, enter your booking confirmation number, and make sure your booking comes up!
