snorkling near Barcelona
Anyone know of any good places to snorkle near Barcelona? I have heard that Sitges is a beautiful beach area, but not sure where to go to snorkle. Can you swim at the beach in Sitges? Any other beach suggestions? Thanks!

I have been to the areas between Barcelona and Sitges many times. You can swim in Sitges beach or even in Barcelona (can't tell about the quality of the water but people do.).
I have, however, never noticed people snorkeling. Maybe the mediteranean water is not clear enough (lots of seaweeds) and not much shallow water for snorkeling to be a popular sport. This is just my impression and some may know better than me. I've seen windsurfers and surfers in Sitges though.

I have seens some snorklers, but the areas near Barcelona aren't best placed as there are few rockpools. You'd be better off going further north to Costa Brava ('wild coast'). The area between Tossa de Mar and San Felieu has many small bays along rocky coastline. Even Tossa itself has some. A bus connects to Barcelona in about 90 min.
