Snorkelling in Greece
Fellow Travellers,

How is the snorkelling in Greece? Which Islands offer better experiences. Is the water warm enough to swim in the beginning of June?

thanks~
|
Well, I have been to Corfu. Itwas definitley warm eough in june to swim.
The snorkeling was good as well. The island is so green and plush you enjoy the land too.

Paxos, a few miles south of Corfu, has a rocky coastline with lots of interesting little coves and crystal clear waters, so the snorkelling is very good. You can also learn to dive there if you're feeling a bit more adventurous.

I found Crete was especially good, as there was a 'sunken city' near to where we stayed in Elounda on the North East coast. We were there the beginning of June, and the water and weather was lovely and warm (for me, a Scots lass!). The sunken city was called Olous, if I remember rightly, and was interesting to look at. There was also a bit of coral reef, and a fair amount of water life - fish, sea anenomes, etc.

Hope that helps!

Snorkelling in Greece? I've only snorkeled in salt water or fresh water, but I'm willing to give it a try!
