SNCF Train Ticket Help.

We will be traveling from Lyon to Annecy. When I look up the tickets on the SNCF website it lists the train information but when I go to order the tickets it says "Attention, you cannot make reservations for certain journeys in this list" and they all say "without reservation" on them. Should I still book the tickets? What happens and are we guarenteed seats? Thanks.

Search for MorganB's thread on SNCF, It will help...

sounds like they're saying certain short distance regional trains don't accept reservations - you will always be able to board and most likely find empty seats. I see no reason to buy these tickets before arrival - same price i think as discounts are usually for longer trips on TGV trains or CorailTEOZ - then at the ticket window ask for a reservation if possible.

I tried topping the MorganB post but for some reason cannot do so.

I think Pal is on the right track but you'll get an even more extensive explanation on the MorganB thread..do a search for that name and it will come up.
