SNCF Train Question

If we buy a round trip ticket from Le Havre to Paris St. Lazare station and back, do we have to use the St. Lazare station to return to Le Havre? Or can we hop on at any station to return to Le Havre?

And do the train tickets sell out in advance so that we must buy them in advance?

Thanks!

Saint Lazare is the only Paris train station serving Le Havre.

The Le Havre-Paris line cannot sell out, because it is not a "reservations only" line. If there are 300 seats on the train and 500 passengers, 200 of them can stand in the aisles. It has happened to me on the Rouen line before.

Hi K,

IIRC, you will be on a cruise.

It would save you some time and money if you bought your tickets in advance at www.voyages-sncf.com.

They have a 15E each way PREMS fare, and you can print your own tickets.

And if you plan to buy in advance on the website you mite look over MorganB's extensive thread on French train travel.
