sncf message - what does it mean

i have been observing threads (with great bewilderment!)on using the sncf website to book prems tickets. i have FIANLLY got onto a page in english using www.voyages-sncf.com/leisure/fr/launch/home/ but when i try to book a prems ticket for pau to paris (via Dax Station) on the 14th may it tells me there is a technical error try again later. i get the same fare but same error message on tgv-europe website. can anybody shed some light on why i am getting this message? I have even tried just entering Dax to paris which offers no prem's tickets at all!

I hope you don't mind, but I would like to ask a SNCF question. When booking does your return have to be within the 90 day window of making the reservation? Thank you.

Fodorite018 Feb 24th, 2008 07:53 AM

benitakaren--Yes, the return portion needs to be within that 90 day window. Last year when we bought tickets, I just did it twice. Got great PREM fares, so it was worth it!

mms:

Thanks. That is exactly what I will do.

gosh baldrick I went to bed after i posted the question and have only got back to it days later...apologies. tried again and recieved the same following msg......
A technical error has occurred, please try again later.

Attention, you cannot make reservations for certain journeys in this list

what address did you use?

just to confirm i am doing it correctly, first i enter the travel details which subsequently brings up a list of travel options. i select the prems ticket pau to dax to paris and then click "choose this outward journey". it is at this point i get the error msg.

i have discovered that it appears to be only the 69 euro fare that i cannot purchase. does this mean that they have all been snaffled up?.

ira Feb 28th, 2008 06:25 AM

Hi M,

Your 69E fare might have been upsnaffled.

The 44E fare on the direct train at 08:11 is available.
