Smorgasbord at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm

Has anyone been to the smorgasbord at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm? Is it worth the price? Is there a better smorgasbord you would recommend? Thanks.

We are ending our cruise in Stockholm on June 22 and soending one night there. I just made a reservation at the Grand Hotel for their smorgasbord dinner. I have read some good reviews and figured it was a perfect dinner for our one night in Stockholm. We will see!!

Hi, glsebs. When you come back from your trip could you let us know how you liked the smorgasbord there? Thanks a lot.

There are not many restaurants in Stockholm offering a Smörgåsbord except at Christmas when it is served in restaurants all over the city.

The Smörgåsbord served at the Grand Hotel is a Stockholm institution and a bargain at 425 SEK when you consider the amount of dishes to choose from and the quality of the food. Complimentary drinks are expensive though but a Smörgåsbord isn't complete without a snaps or two (if you drink alcoholic drinks, of course) to wash down the pickled herring with.

I will let you know about our meal when we return. My husband can't wait to try all the herring dishes....me not so much!

I have stayed at the Grand Hotel on many occasions and easn't even aware that they had a smorgasbord at dinner. The hotel's very elaborate breakfast, often included in the room fee, is a form of smorgasbord. The food is good, but certainly nothing special. I have eaten dinner there only once: again, it was good but there are many, far better restaurant alternatives in Stockholm.
if you have a choice of rooms, those on the 5th floor with a view of the water, are wonderful.
Have fun...Stockholm is a fabulous city with so much to see and do, including wonderful museums.
