Smileys Legend Procedure

Just printed out the Legind for Smileys, but don't know how to type in the Legend. Are you supposed to hold down a certain letter or figure? I see a large bold dot and then it may say after it, "or =:-)" but what do you do to get the Smiley faces?

Princess Sep 7th, 2005 10:28 PM

Oh, I see. One has to enter or return afterwards. ( :

Oops! It's not working again.

Tinling Sep 7th, 2005 10:28 PM

I think you got it. Just look at your post. I don't know why. It's still a mystery to me.

Alas, if there were only a "smiley" that represented "Am I nuts?" - - then you could use that as your message header.

If you're not going to bother to mention a destination in your message header, then why bother with words at all?

;)

Best wishes,

Rex

Dukey Jul 5th, 2006 06:33 AM

Rex,

Stop wasting energy on that "Am I Nuts?" post..they obviously aren't listening to you (or anyone else) and their "bad" message header did not keep you, or other people from opening and answering it.

ggreen Jul 5th, 2006 07:51 AM

Hey Rex, how's this for nuts?
8-}

:> LOL

rex Jul 5th, 2006 09:06 AM

Thanks, Dukey, for expending the energy to express your concerns - - over my personal expenditure crisis, which... happily... does not exist.

Of course people opened it. It's tantamount to putting a speed bump on a post, and saying "My posting is more important than most other people's; please stop and click on it, to see what I am asking".

It is the polite thing to do... to point out to Princess that she was inadvertently inconsiderate by doing so.

It's an easy thing to fix - - all she had to do was re-post. Choosing not follow the advice to do that... qualifies as rude.

JAGIRL Jul 5th, 2006 09:36 AM

Oh rex & dukey... 8|
Let's expend our energy into more useful things than silly arguments about...expending our energy...shall we? 8}

For instance :
Why don't we try to figure out why the Fodor's people chose this icon ((~)) and this one ((%))over a chocolate icon. Under what circumstances would one use that ((%)) icon?
And they have two monkey icons :(|) 8-|)
Hmmm... :?
