Smartours inquiry
 

Know most Fodors readers are independent travelers but I'm inquiring about Smartours, wondering if anyone has used them for a tour anywhere.

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has used them--both pro or con. Thanks much. Geri

I haven't used this company, but my supervisor has for 3 of their tours (China, Thailand, Galapagos) and just raves about the company. She highly recommends this company to anyone who travels, and she is what I would call an experienced traveler. If I were to do a tour again, I would definitely look into this company - and probably go with this company - based on her recommendations.

I've read a lot of good comments about them, also, I think mainly for tours in Asia. I just know it wasn't for Europe, and it sounded great if I decided to go there.

I just took Smartours trip to Scandinavia and St. Petersburg in June and it was just wonderful. The hotels (except for St. Petersburg) were great and very well located, our tour director was exceptional, the local guides were excellent, the itinerary was just right, and even the included food was good. Not only all that, but it was a great value.

Quite a few of the other people on the tour had travelled with Smartours before, most of them at least 4 or 5 times. My parents' friends have done 6 trips with them. I definitely plan to travel with them again.

Please let me know if you have any specific questions about either Smartours in general or my trip in particular.

We took Smartours to Thailand. It was a good tour. We had a lady on our tour who has taken 7 tours with them, and loved them all. They have a very good reputation.

Someone refered me to this post and I am so thankful they did. I did travel to China with SmarTours and was satisfied but have never found anyone else who has traveled with them and it is so good to read their comments. We are going to Warsaw, Budapest, Prague, etc. with them the beginning of Sept. I am hoping the experience will be as good as the one to China. We had a wonderful guide and options for a couple extra things. China is so full of history and I would not trade the trip for anything. I am indeed glad I was fortunate enough to go. I got sick on the cruise part of the trip, but that could happen to anyone on any trip I guess. So I would not let that keep me from going. Just one of those things. Good luck!
