I am considering doing magic mushrooms while visiting Amsterdam. I read they can be bought at a smart shop. Are some better than others. What type of mushrooms are the best to try ? Are most of the smart shops pretty reputiable ?

Amsterdam is a wonderful city to visit
and yes, there are shop that sell that kind of stuff, why would you go so far and spend so much money then do drugs?
I am sure you can get high at home wherever you live? When you get to Amsterdam go sight seeing or on a canal ride, talk to the locals, have a great meal, see the RLD. Don't do drugs you don't need them! drugs are for LOSERS!

If people on this board would just ignore these stupid posts (and those asking for "hey man, where's the nearest coffeeshop" as if they were in a Cheech and Chong movie) then they'd go away. But no, there are these self-righteous posters here that think it is their god-given duty to pass out information on how to procure controlled substances which are illegal under Dutch law!

Magic Mushrooms or Marijuana at 100's of places in Amsterdam, illegal or not!

dougieo, I don't know when you will have time for this, with all the shoarma houses, pancake places and trendy restaurants you want to visit, but I have no idea what you mean by smart shop. Try a coffeeshop maybe?

dougieo, you sure you're going to amsterdam? In your other posts you ask about asia are you going to both places?

don't reply to the message if you don't have any suggestions for this person's question. They are not asking for your opinions or comments on whether or not they should or should not do drugs. Look into your own circle before telling others what to do.

Hey BLS, I said there is 100's of places to buy mushrooms and marijuana in Amsterdam. you need to keep your opinion or comments about how others post their replys to YOURSELF! It is MY opinion that people should stay home if they want to get high!

FYI, that was my adventure seeking girlfriend using my screen name, who posted that message on smart shops. I told her she is very bad and might need a spanking. I myself did experiment with mushrooms 20 years ago in the infield of the Kentucky Derby. Boy, did they taste awful. I will try to get my girlfiend to behave otherwise, I will not take my girlfriend to Amsterdam!!!!

BTW, cancelled by asia trip cause of the tsunami related stuff. Unfortunate as I would be swimming on Chewang Beach in Samui as I type this. What a bummer!!!

Do yourself a favor and purchase a Let's Go Amsterdam guidebook. All your (girlfriend's) questions are answered there.

Tulip- coffeeshop and smart shop are different. I won't elaborate at the risk of the rath of the righteous right on this thread.

I don't recall Gucci or Louis Vuitton stocking them.

I've not seen all that much difference in smart shops in regards to 'shrooms. They all seem to have have product from the same wholesaler. The dealers are very knowledgable- so just tell them your experiences and expectations and they'll be able to recommend 1 of the 3 or 4 types usually on sale (Cubensis, Cyanescens, Tampanensis, and Conocybe IIRC) Last time I bought some the dealer gave me a handout from the Amsterdam city government concerning the use and precautions.

My favorite shop is Conscious Dreams located both in the RLD and on Kerkstraat in the Leidseplein area.
