Small Towns in Tuscany/Siena...
 

I am going to be spending a week in Tuscany. Our villa is Casa del Neri in Camporsevoli which is near Lae Piazze and Cetona. Would appreciate any knowledge, tips, restaurants, etc. Thanks

Unfortunately you're not very central to the best of Tuscany (although you'll be close to Umbria). Will you have the use of a car?

I don't know how far you'll be from Pienza which is south near Montipulciano but we stayed here last May and it was a very beautiful region.

Also if you are near Umbria we loved Orvieto and its' surroundings.

The restaurant at Fattoria dei Barbi, a vineyard (Brunello) south of Montalcino, was simply amazing. Probably one of the best meals we had during our two - two week trips to Italy. We liked it so much we plan to return this year. And as a grandchild of an Emilia-Romagna nonna, I'm possibly the worst Italian food snob! ;)

Euginio gives good advice when he suggested Monterigginiovery small old mid evil town, make a short stop to stretch your legs and meander,and then head to lunch palce in the previous post,, taste some great Brunellos and then walk around PIenza just a bit south from Monltacino about 30 -45 minutes. Pienz is a nice town to stroll around have a coffee. If you think you are close to Orvieto I highly recomend a day trip I could look up the restaurant that we had dinner at twice in one week because it was that good very small and one of the best meals in that region for us. Also a great restaurant that got a repeat from us was Buco de Orafo in a small alley next to the Ufizzi in Florence.

In Cetona, Restaurant Sobborgo is very very good. Tel. 0578/239191. Mostly local patrons, outdoor seating in Summer.
