small ship for fjords cruise?
I am looking for a 5-8 day cruise on an small (under 150 people) ship for an august trip to norway. We have found that these ships are able to go where big ships can't, and want you loose in luxury, you more than gain in other ways. Any advice? thanks

Have you considered Hurtiguten ? Otherwise, there's the GANN, a former Hurtiguten ship now used for training but which does a programme of cruises in summer - try www.gann.no. You'd probably need to understand some Norwegian to get the best out of it.

Cathy -
Take a look at this companyASSAGE TOURS. We used them to book an independent tour in June 2002 and were very pleased.
Part of our travels included one day on a cruise ship. We got on in Alesund and went into a fjord. The other people were on a 10 -14 day cruise but we could go on just for the day. http://www.passagetours.com/index.asp#StartOfPage

I'll check back to see if you have any more questions.
