small secluded house/cottage in southwest england

we would love to spend 2 months in South West England.
Looking for a secluded place to stay (detached small house/cottage), preferably in the midst of nature. Just the two of us, so it doesn't need to be big, nor luxurious. Privacy, silence and beautiful nature are the things we are looking for.
Any good tips? Thanks!

Sawday's now has several websites, one of which is exclusively for self-catering accommodations:
http://www.sawdays.co.uk/self-catering/britain/

And another called Canopy & Stars which has some interesting looking places, slightly less traditional:

I haven't used their listings in the UK but have in India and all were worth seeking out.

Have a look at the National Trust cottages - a lot of them are in remote locations. Not cheap, though, and I don't know if there would be availability for such a long stay.

Whereabouts in SW England were you thinking? Anywhere around Frome/ Glastonbury is nice, and you'll "arv a reel West Country fe-al".

Or, there is the glorious Devon and Cornwall. I guess you have two options:
Countryside national park - if so, look near Exmoor or Dartmoor
or
Fishing villages - if so, try St Ives, Sennen Cove (right at the tip!), Marazion, et al.

Try sites such as http://www.holidaycottages.co.uk/cottages but beware, they get booked up VERY early on, so you might need to have some patience. January is our holiday-booking season!

for Cornwall [where i think you are most likely to find your dream cottage] these people have a very reputation locally :

http://www.cornishcottageholidays.co.uk/

or try the local tourist board at www.visitcornwall.co.uk

many may say that they will only look at a max of 4 weeks, but in these straightened times, who knows?
