Small, quaint, Charming hotel near 16th arrondissement needed!? $100-$150 US. nt

Hi,
2nd trip to Paris...previously stayed at Hotel Andrea Rivoli & Hotel Jeanne d'Arc(Marais). Loved both....

Our daughter is playing in the Danone Nations Cup at the Parc des Princes Stadium, we wanted something nearby.

Any hints or tips?

Thanx

I don't think US $100 is possible, and I don't think the hotels you named are at that rate either, are they? Also, that is peak season, and you want to be near the game stadium. I think the Andrea Rivoli was around 90 euro, but maybe I'm wrong.

There are some good deals over there around Passy, which is an area I really like and where I would stay. Even the 2* hotels I know over there that are bargains are more like 120-140 euro, though. Such as then Hameau de Passy www.paris-hotel-hameaudepassy.com or then Gavarni www.paris-hotel-gavarni.com

The best I can think of is the Passy Home hotel www.passyhome.com which is near Mirabeau metro stop and does have doubles for 90 euro (and you can get a studio flat for 110 euro). That's only a few metro stops away, although actually there are buses that go directly by there and straight to the stadium -- like the no. 72 bus. That hotel is on rue Felicien David, but the bus down ave de Versailles, I believe (also check no. 52 schedule).

some others would be the Villa d'Auteuil www.hotel-villa-dauteuil.com near the Michel-Ange Auteuil metro and the Queen's Hotel www.hotel-queens-hotel.com also near that metro. The Villa Auteuil is real cheap (like 80 euro) but the Queen's Hotel is more like 118-140 euro.

Closest hotel I know is Hotel Boileau www.hotel-boileau-paris.com which has rooms at only 90-100 euro and is near Exelmans metro stop (west of ave Versailles). You could even walk from there, I imagine.

All of those are 2* hotels, I believe. If that is this year in September you have better hussle on getting a hotel booked.

I can vouch for the Hameau de Passy. VERY CLEAN and nice, although spartan. Excellent location with Monoprix just steps away and across the street from a mall with yet another grocery store, H&M, and also a laundromat just around the corner. I love this area.

Mr frogoutofwater and I used to live very close to the Parc des Princes. I can recommend a few restaurants.

Our favourite is Le vin dans les voiles, a winebar with a terrific short menu, a charming patron and excellent prices. Let him choose the wines to pair with your courses. It's very small, so it's best to make a reservation a few hours in advance. Here's the link: http://www.vindanslesvoiles.com/

We also liked Le Congres, which is at the Porte d'Auteuil. It has recently been renovated. It's a little more expensive overall than Le vin dans les voiles, but has a fairly extensive selection of classic brasserie fare. We usually went there for an oyster platter and the duck. Try to get a seat downstairs.

There is also another cute little bistro (red-checked tablecloths etc) at the Porte D'Auteuil. I've forgotten the name, but it's almost across the street from Tse (an Asian-influenced place that's good for a drink) and just north of the flower shop that faces the Porte.

We also had good food at the very trendy (and expensive) restaurant that sits right at Porte d'Auteuil on Blvd Murat - I think it's called Murat. It's more of a seen and be seen place, but the service was more gracious than I'd expect it to be, given that we're not very trendy.

Further north in the 16th, closer to Passy, I would not recommend La Gare - except maybe for a drink. It's an attractive restaurant (converted train station), but I've generally found the service and food to be indifferent. The shops around that area, though, on Passy are definitely worth it. On my last trip to Paris, I found two perfect cocktail dresses (not too skanky, not too stuffy but suitable for work events) for less than 150 euros each.

Thank You for the restaurant details.

I found a cute little 2star spot very, very close to the stadium called "Hotel Exelman's", anyone know it?

Thank You.
