Small hotel/B&B near CDG

This may have been discussed a few months ago but at that time our Paris trip was not yet planned. We have an early (9 am) flight from CDG and will need to stay near the airport. Can anyone recommend a B&B in a nearby village? A chain hotel does not appeal--a nice place with some charm and transportation to CDG would be ideal.

Do you have a car? If so, look up Logis de France chain and search by map. We stayed at a lovely hotel in a samll village about 1 hour north of the airport, turned our rental car in and shuttled to the airport. Beat an aiport hotel anyday!!

Have you definitely ruled out staying in the city? IMO, you can easily get to CDG from Paris in time to meet the check-in deadline for an 09:00 departure.

You aren't very likely to find charm near an airport -- think ORD, LAX, LHR. I never found one really near CDG, though they may be there.

I wouldn't want to get up early enough to be sure of being at CDG at 7, either from Paris or an hour away in another direction. All you need is one wreck on the expressway, and you are in a mess.

You may have to live with a business hotel, and there are a ton of them.

We looked to no avail and ended up at the Holiday Inn Express after getting a great deal on expedia.com. The upside was it was next door to a park that lead into town where there were a handful of restaurants and was surprisingly charming.

I agree, finding a charming B&B near CDG from which you could take public transportation to Paris is way unlikely. If such a place existed, I"m sure its virtues would already have been extolled here on Fodors.

Best thing I can think of is stay in Senlis and take a taxi to CDG.

We recently spent several nights at the Sofitel near CDG in between several trips, and DO NOT recommend it. It is horribly overpriced for what you get, and the restaurant is not very good.

If you stay in Senlis, you also have the option of taking a bus directly to CDG. See the timetables here: http://tinyurl.com/rfbrb.
