Small group tours of tuscan country side

We r staying in siena without a car . Private tours of countryside are so expensive . Any companies that form small groups to cut down expense ? Looking to see montalcino , pienza montepulciano , san gigmano etc ?

Telling us your budget for a tour would be helpful. Here is one we took a couple of years ago, from Siena, and it was great. www.winetourintuscany.com. We took the Brunello tour and it lasted about 8 hours and included wine tasting at 2 or 3 wineries and a gourmet lunch. Cost back then was 150-170 euro pp. The owner/guide, Donatella, is lots of fun and the group is small, usually around 8-10 people.

You say you aren't renting a car. However, driving around Tuscany is the best way to see the places you mention. It isn't difficult at all and will give you flexibility to spend more or less time where you prefer.

Rent a car in Florence and drive to Siena and wherever else you are looking to go. There is nothing terrible about driving out of Florence.

If you don't want to pick up a car in town, plan to pick up[ at the airport.

We are four people all together (my husband and two teenage daughters ) I am looking to spend no more than 400$ for the day but would like to spend less . A company called Tuscan Escapes runs a few semi private tours . Any experience with them ?
I also saw a company that runs semi private tours called My Tours Tuscany Escapes . Any one know them ?

Any others ?
Thank you

I see no one mentioned Luca of www.hillsandroads.com. If you check his web site you can probably find the tours you seek and at reasonable prices. He is an excellent tour guide, a lovely intelligent and fun person to spend a day with and a very safe and efficient driver. Enjoy your visit!!

Jessica, With four people, you should be renting a car. If you don't wish to pick it up in Florence( easy get out of the city from Borgo Ognisanti where many car rental agencies are located, then get it at the airport. You will miss So much of Tuscany without a car.
