Small Group Tour Wanted

I'm looking for a tour company for Southern Italy that offers small groups. I've been in touch with Story Land and Sea, but they're very pricey.
The area I'm most interested in is the Amalfi Coast. 10 to 12 days.
Thanks!

Why not just book it yourself and visit or pick up local tours if necessary to particular places you'd like to see. It's a relatively small area and unless you're yearning for the company of strangers, I'd think best done on your own.

It's definitely a possibility. I wasn't sure if it's better to have it all figured out by someone who knows what they're doing.
Would it be best to make out "home base" in Sorrento or Positano?
Thanks for your help!

No need for a tour for the AC. I based in Sorrento because I wanted to visit Pompeii, Herculaneum and Paestum as well as the AC. I spent three nights on Capri first, and a couple in Naples later. If you are just interested in the AC Positano would work, but so would Amalfi or Praiano, or even Ravello if you can afford it.

Not sure how small a group you mean, but if I wanted a tour for Italy I would use this outfit (I did use them for Sicily):

I liked Sorrento. Do you know how you want to spend your time there? If not, look at the tour itineraries and see what they do, choose what sounds best to you and see which place will be most convenient. You can always come back here to ask for more detail once you have some likely activities in mind.

It will just be two of us, as our honeymoon. We've been together 10 years, so privacy isn't an issue!
I've been to Sorrento for a day, and Capri for a day on a tour with Cosmos, but my friends and I were on our own those days, so we just wandered around.
I'd like to see these with someone who knows the history and interesting things to see.
Pompeii and such aren't priorities.
(Cosmo's groups are big and hotels are BAD!)
Again, thank you for all your help!

I have visited the AC 7 times and have never used a tour. It is quite easy to plan on your own with a good guidebook and some research.

Where have you stayed? Cities? Hotels?
