Slomenice Castle

My husband is going to be attending a conference at Slomenice Castle in Slovakia in June . It is approximately 50km northeast of Bratislava. I'm trying to decide if I should go with him but I cannot find any tourist information about this place. Has anyone ever been here and can tell me what would be interesting to do? Thanks!

Smolenice Castle houses the Slovakia Academy of Sciences and is not frequently opened to the public (though, DH and DS snuck in one weekend while castle hunting). There are quite a few castles in the area that can be toured (doing so is easier by car), like Budmerice and Dobra Voda, and a few mildly interesting towns (Trnava and Nitra). Bratislava looks to be about 90-120 minutes away by train; and further afield, Vienna would be about 3 hours by train.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for your reply. I apologize for misspelling the name of the castle. I don't think we will have a car because we will probably fly into Prague and take a train to Smolenice and then go to Budapest. Hopefully I will be able to take a bus or train to Bratislava while my husband is in the conference.
