sleepinitaly.com - good or bad experience?
Does anyone have feedback they can share about this website/service?
They're telling me that the fact they have a property on their site guarentees the property is great, and it means the property has received only positive customer feedback - otherwise they would remove it immediately. Should I believe them? |
I have used them in the past and was very, very satisfied with their services and customer relationships. Now, with that said, I don't think I would go along with the guarantee, it would be almost impossible for them to do that. When you find an apartment use other means to verify reviews, like SlowTrav.
I will say this, in my case, they made it very clear the positives and negatives of the properties we rented through them. No surprises. |
1. I have had positive experiences with sleepinitaly and have recommended them.
2. Perhaps a company can reasonably claim that all their properties are "great", whatever that means to you, but no one can guarantee that there will not be problems with your specific rental. Water heaters do break, toilets do back up, etc etc. 3. Why don't you post the name of the specific unit you are contemplating and see if anyone else has rented it? Much more useful line of inquiry, IMO. |
We also had a good experience with sleepinitaly, and the apartment looked just the way it did on the Web site.

I had a positive experience with Sleepinitaly. However, just before I left for that trip to Rome, I read a report on this forum by someone who had a less positive experience. I do not remember the details, it was several years ago. This made me a little nervous, but I went ahead and enjoyed my stay with no problems of any kind. I believe a negative experience can happen with just about any agency.

Thanks for the feedback!
tedgale, I actually did post the link in the hopes of getting some first-hand feedback - and I've done extensive research to see if I could find any reviews. Unfortunately, this property is really just a room in someone's home (seperate entrance) and doesn't seem to have a real 'name'. Nor have I been able to find anyone who recognizes it from the link. So I'm just going to have to take Sleepinitaly's word for it. I'm just glad to hear they are at least a reputable company!! Just in case anyone might have stayed here, this is a link to the room: http://www.sleepinitaly.com/bb.php?id_bb=84 Thanks again for the feedback :) |
I don't think the word "great" has any legal meaning. (This is why I hate it when people ask for a "great" hotel - which can mean 50 different things.) This word is considered puffery - and doesn't imply any specific amenity, service, condition or location. It's like all those words they use describing Hollywood movies - or every model being a "super model".
They certainly seem reputable - but always check everything yourself as well. |
