Hotel Gamla Stan. Central, immaculately clean, reasonable, good included breakfast. The words Gamla Stan mean old quarter. Check their web site.

Comfort Hotel Stockholm <http://www.choicehotels.no/hotels/hotel?hotel=SE030> might be a little above your price range but check it out anyway. One offsetting consideration is its superb location. You won't have to spend any money on public transportation getting there and returning to the Central Station buses and trains to the airport.

This hotel will probably be too expensive, but you might check and see if the have a special deal. The hotel is called Lady Hamilton and it's right in the middle of Gamla Stan. It's a very good location. The building is very old, dates from the 1400's, and the hotel has a lot of charm, wonderful staff, and a great buffet breakfast...hot and cold items and lots of it.

The down side...the rooms are really small and it's directly across the street from the Stockholm Cathedral, so depending on what side of the building you're on, the church bells could be an issue. They ring the full 24 hours. I did the "battle of the bells" for a couple of nights til I got used to them.

Like I say, I know regular prices are over your budget, but if they have a special going, it might fit.

When are you going? A budget 80-90 Euro/nigt for a triple, breakfast included, city centre is a bit unrealistic, even though may be posssible in January-March?

fabbro:

try the Hotel Mornington, easy walk to Gamla Stan and city center. It's a chain of British and Australian hotels, and we found our stay there a few years ago to be very plesant and comfortable...excellent buffet breakfasts...clean and neat rooms.
Very nice staff.

Here is a P.S. to the previous mention of the Comfort Hotel Stockholm.

Their web site mentions a 30% discount <http://tinyurl.com/4wuyy5> if you stay 3 nights during the period 26 September–12 October 2008. That should bring it down to your range!

I stayed at Hotel Adlon a few weeks back, can highly recommend it. Super breakfast! http://www.bra-hotell.com/stockholm/adlon_en.html

I stayed at the Lady Hamilton in August. I had a 1 bed room that was 289.00 USD a night. The hotel was just beautiful but it was on the pricey side. The location was excellent as well.
