Sleeping in Padua

Looking for a single room in a 2-3 star hotel in Padua between the train station and centro. Any recommendations? Websites?

Anyone???

For a complete listing of all hotels, see:

www.turismo.regione.veneto.it (Veneto Region)

and

www.enit.it (All of Italy)

Thanks for the response, GAC, but there's not much on Venere. The turismo link appears to be dead, and I'll have to google the few hotels that came up in the enit link.

Any personal recommendations?

GAC Jan 20th, 2004 12:46 PM

I have no personal recommendations. Both the Regione Veneto and the ENIT websites work for me.

I stayed at the Grand'Italia in 2001 and thought it was fine. It's across from the train station, but the centro is walkable (or you can take a short bus ride).

It's a 4 star, but not too expensive, especially weekends (they quote EUR 90 for a single on their website)..

Hope this helps,
Andre

Hi, Andre - yeah, I saw that, but I'll be there on a weeknight and they're quoting 140 euros. That's just W A Y too much for a single room in Padua. Think I'll have any problem if I just wing it when I get there? I'm guessing most hotels in Padua just don't have an internet presence.

Holly: the three-star Hotel Monaco is across the street from the train station in Padova, less expensive and less lavish than the Grand'Italia. It's a dull area of town, but very convenient to the trains.

Two more three star properties to consider in Padova:

Hotel Corso
Hotel Leon Bianco

The Corso is one third of the way from the train station to the Centro Storico. The Leon Biance is in the general Centro Storico.
